In 2004, Ralph Abraham and Nina Wise began working together on a play based on Abraham's extensive research on the nature of paradigm shifts. In spring, 2006, the collaborating artists spent a month at the Djerassi Foundation where they continued to conduct research, brainstorm, and write.

In August, 2006, the first act of the play was produced at the Bay Area Playwrights Festival in San Francisco. Rick Foster came on board as dramaturg, and also directed the staged reading. Incorporating feedback from audiences, Wise continued to develop the script with Abraham's counsel.

In July 2007, the full-length play was produced as a staged reading at the River Stage Playwright's Festival in Sacramento, directed by Frank Condon. The work has been extremely well received.

Nina Wise has completed a second draft of the play which incorporates substantial musical elements. Readings in Santa Fe, sponsored by the "Under Construction" project of The Lensic, and in San Francisco, sponsored by the Playwrights Foundation, are scheduled for spring, 2008.
